Bellecôte glacier lift Chalet de Bellecôte
Update – this lift is being replaced for the 2023/24 season. The Chalet de Bellecôte is a two-man chair at the foot of the glacier sector of La Plagne. This aging lift transports riders back from the Lanche Ronde red and Frête blue back up to the mid-station of the Bellecôte gondola.
At the top, you can take these two runs back down or branch off the top section of Frête to take the gondola back to the Plagne Bellecôte / Roche de Mio area going right or left up to the glacier.
Although the Chalet de Bellecôte is strictly speaking a two-person chair, you’ll often see people taking it as a single as there isn’t much space. If you don’t fancy taking the lift back up, you could instead continue on the remote Dérochoir black piste down to the Route des Bauches blue which eventually drops you at the foot of the Bauches chair. However, as with all of La Plagne’s glacier, the best runs here really are off-piste. If you’re doing them, get a guide.
- Serves good runs
- Usually quiet
- Very slow lift
- 2-seater, old lift
- Uncomfortable
