Montalbert lifts: There aren’t many lifts in the Plagne Montalbert sector, but the network here still serves some of the best tree-lined skiing in La Plagne. Everything centres on the long Montalbert gondola, which rises from Plagne Montalbert (1250m) up to Le Fornelet at 1970m.
From the top you’ve got a choice of flowing blue and red runs dropping back through the trees to village level — all of which can be accessed from this single point. It’s simple, calm and usually far quieter than the main La Plagne hubs.

Quick tip: Montalbert is one of the calmest and easiest sectors in La Plagne, but it still makes sense to sort your equipment before you arrive. Booking online usually means better prices, better availability and a much smoother first day once you get to resort.
Choose a shop close to where you’re staying so collecting your gear is quick and easy before heading up to Le Fornelet.

Quick tip: Montalbert is calmer than the main La Plagne hubs, but accidents can still happen anywhere on the mountain. In France, rescue and evacuation costs can be charged to you even on marked pistes, so proper cover is worth sorting before your trip.
Good ski insurance helps cover medical treatment, lift evacuation and cancellation if something goes wrong before or during your holiday.
