Plagne Montchavin beginner pistes: As with most of the resorts in La Plagne, the highest concentration of beginner zones are at village level (Montchavin village) although there are also novice skier and snowboarder areas located at the top of the Coches cable car and the Télébufette.
There’s also a great beginner piste near the Ecureuils lift, reached via the Plan Bois chair or Lac Noir gondola – with restaurants handily situated nearby. Check the iRide / LaPlagne360 YouTube channel for more info.

Quick tip: Montchavin has some really handy beginner areas close to lifts, restaurants and easy routes back down the mountain, so it makes sense to get your equipment sorted before you travel. Booking ski or snowboard hire in advance usually means cheaper online prices, better availability and a much smoother first morning once you’re in resort.
If you’re starting out or building confidence, having everything ready to go makes those first few runs much easier.

Quick tip: Even if you’re only skiing easy green runs around Montchavin and Les Coches, accidents can still happen. In France, rescue and evacuation costs can be charged to you, so it’s worth sorting proper ski insurance before your trip rather than leaving it until the last minute.
Good cover helps with medical treatment, lift evacuation and cancellation if something goes wrong before or during your holiday.
