Grande Rochette / Plagne Centre expert pistes: The two black pistes in the Grande Rochette sector above Plagne Centre might be short but they pack a punch – well, at least in the top sections anyway.
However, as with the rest of the resort, if you’re looking for the biggest on-hill challenges, you should consider hiring a guide to show the much bigger challenges in Paradiski – or head for the Biolley blacks or the black pistes in the Glacier sector. Both these areas have great off-piste challenges as does the Champagny sector. Quick tip: The black pistes in Grande Rochette may be short, but they can be sharp, steep and unpredictable depending on conditions. In France, rescue and evacuation costs can be charged to you even on marked runs, so it’s worth sorting proper cover before your trip.
Good ski insurance helps cover medical treatment, lift evacuation and cancellation if something goes wrong before or during your holiday.
