Plagne Montalbert beginner pistes: Unlike many of the other sectors in La Plagne, the Montalbert sector has beginner areas around Plagne Montalbert village at the foot of the mountain as well as at the summit, on the top of Le Fornelet.
While the bigger of the two is located at the bottom, the green beginner zone at the top affords novice skiers and snowboarders great views of Aime 2000 and has the added bonus of the 360 restaurant nearby – plus a safe return to base is guaranteed on the Plagne Montalbert gondola. Quick tip: Montalbert is a really good place to build confidence, with beginner zones both low down and higher up the mountain. Booking ski or snowboard hire before you travel usually means cheaper prices online, better size availability and a much easier first morning once you arrive.
That means less hassle at the start of the day and more time getting comfortable on the snow.

Quick tip: Montalbert is a friendly place to learn, but beginner areas still come with slips, tumbles and the occasional awkward first day. In France, rescue and evacuation costs can be charged to you even on marked runs, so it’s worth sorting proper cover before your trip.
Good ski insurance helps cover medical treatment, lift evacuation and cancellation if something goes wrong before or during your holiday.
