La Plagne Glacier expert pistes: The Bellecôte Glacier zone has the toughest and longest expert pistes in La Plagne, with black runs on both sections of the sector. Better yet, the lifts here also give access to some of the toughest off-piste riding in the whole of Paradiski, including the infamous Bellecôte North Face.
To take advantage of these areas, you really need to get a guide as this is high Alpine steep riding at its best – but is not without risk. Note there are big changes planned for the La Plagne glacier lifts. Visit the iRide / LaPlagne360 YouTube channel for more info.

Quick tip: If you’re heading for Glacier blacks, the last thing you want is badly fitted boots or gear that feels wrong from the first lift. Booking ski or snowboard hire in advance usually means cheaper prices online, better size availability and a much smoother start once you arrive.
When the terrain gets steeper and more exposed, confidence in your equipment matters just as much as confidence in your riding.

Quick tip: The Glacier blacks are where La Plagne gets most serious on-piste, and the off-piste access here is even more committing. In France, rescue and evacuation costs can be charged to you even on marked runs, so it’s worth sorting proper cover before you head up.
Good ski insurance helps cover medical treatment, lift evacuation and cancellation if something goes wrong before or during your holiday.
