La Plagne night skiing
Despite the fact the picture above shows the Jean-Luc Crêtier floodlit piste near Plagne Centre and Aime 2000, at the time of writing, La Plagne doesn’t offer floodlit skiing or snowboarding. This piste seems exclusively lit at night for the training of local skiers and snowboarders (mostly skiers) who often do gate training in the evenings. It’s also lit for the annual La Plagne Club des Sports celebration – the Born to Be show – that features the best of La Plagne’s ski and snowboard talent.
Still, the fact this slope isn’t open to the public is a shame as night skiing would definitely be possible in this resort considering even the luge track is lit up. Also, keeping pistes open longer adds a whole different dimension to a ski resort. It also lengthens your skiing day and value you get from a ski trip.
In truth, there are many pistes that would be suitable for nightskiing. Especially Plagne Centre pistes and Plagne Bellecôte pistes. However, it seems night skiing is not something La Plagne want to offer. At least not at time of writing anyway.
