In an attempt to mitigate environmental damage – combined with an undeniable retreat of the snowpack on both the Chiaupe and Bellecôte glaciers – La Plagne’s operating company, SAP, took the bold decision to remove many lifts and runs in the high Alpine of La Plagne.
Below are some of the runs that used to exist – and, once upon a long ago – used to provide summer skiing.
NOTE – THIS RUN NOW LONGER EXISTS UNLESS YOU WANT TO HIKE FOR IT. The red Déversoir used to start with a long, often bumpy traverse skier’s left from the top of the Glacier chairlift. However, we always recommended stopping for a second at the top to take in the views to the right over Trois Vallées, Champagny sector and Grande Casse before heading off.
