Roche de Mio to Plagne Bellecôte via Sources > Belle Plagne
La Plagne’s Roche de Mio is accessible via the gondola of the same, the Inversens chair from the Montchavin sector or the Carella chair out of Champagny. This iconic summit features some of the best views in La Plagne as well as one of La Plagne’s best on-hill restaurants – as well as forming a hub point to drop into the Champagny sector on the Levasset piste – one of La Plagne’s longest pistes.
While the popular Tunnel run is an option from this summit, if you have the skills, you would probably be better taking the Sources red instead. With the exception of a two short steep pitches, the Sources red is really much more of a blue piste – and even these steeper sections can be done by sideslipping if they make you nervous. Conversely, the Tunnel run often involves a fair bit of walking – sometimes before you’ve even reached the tunnel through the mountain. For this reason, we prefer the option of the Sources red.

Take the blue off Roche de Mio then go straight onto Sources
Starting from Roche de Mio, head towards the Inversens restaurant on the right where you’ll see the pistes separate into four different options – the Inversens red and Tunnel blue to the right, Levasset to the left and Sources red straight on. The top of this run is very flat so be sure to try and hold your speed.
The piste then turns first to the right then left before putting you at the first of the two steep pitches. If you’re not feeling confident here, head to the side of the run and sideslip. This section is very short so. you should have no problems getting down. The same applies to the following short steeper pitch (the second one is even shorter and less intimidating). At the bottom of Sources, the run naturally funnels into the Belle Plagne piste.
Join the Belle Plagne to Belle Plagne and Plagne Bellecôte
The base of the Sources piste flows onto the Belle Plagne piste – in the video above around the 27-second mark. Once on this blue run, you have the option to go straight ahead to stop past Belle Plagne village or follow the run to the left, skirting Belle Plagne before dropping back down to Plagne Bellecôte.
