Bosses black piste: The Champagny piste Bosses expert run is one of only 18 black pistes in La Plagne. However, in truth, the gradient of this slope isn’t what makes it intimidating — it’s the moguls (bosses in French literally means “bumps”).
If you love steep bumps, this might be the piste for you. If you hate bumps… it’s going to feel like an unusually long and bad decision.

La Plagne expert piste Bosses: The first quarter of the piste is relatively steep but the gradient soon mellows so that, by the second half of the run, it’s more like a red — or even a blue — rather than a black.
Bosses was previously marked Natur, meaning it’s never pisted. So unless you’re properly into steep bump riding, the best time to hit this run is early season or just after fresh snowfall.
Avoid it when conditions are icy. Later in the season the moguls can get huge and irregular, and it becomes a proper “survive to the bottom” job.
Getting to Bosses: Access is from the summit of Les Verdons by either taking the Verdons Nord chair (soon to be replaced) or the Verdons Sud chair, then following the top section of the Bozelet blue before veering left at the signpost.
Sort your hire before you travel
Quick tip: Champagny is one of the most rewarding sectors in La Plagne, but it still makes sense to sort your equipment before you arrive. Booking online usually means better prices, better availability and a much smoother first morning once you get to resort.
