La Plagne’s Bergerie bar and restaurant is situated on the ridge that separates the Plagne Centre / Plagne 1800 sides of La Plagne from Plagne Soleil / Plagne Villages.

It sits near the top of the Trieuse piste that gives access back to Plagne Bellecôte and subsequently Belle Plagne via the Belle Plagne gondola.

This makes it the ideal spot for aprés beers for pretty much all the major altitude stations. It also means a guaranteed party each day from around 3.30pm.

La Plagne Bergerie bar history

Through the summer of 2019 the Bergerie was completely overhauled and is now about double its previous size. It now features a great open bar area to the right and the previous eating area still located on the left.

The most common access is either via the Bergerie chair above Plagne 1800 or Collosses from the Bellecôte side.

Alternatively, you can also take the Aollets drag lift out of Plagne Villages. It’s also possible to arrive from Plagne Centre by taking the Funiplagne to the summit of Grande Rochette then following the Mira . The Bergerie building will appear on your right as you ride down.

When you get there, you can expect the best aprés ski in all of La Plagne. Dancing on the tables is common and there’s a great party atmosphere most days. Take a look at (the La Plagne Covid season 2019/20 video for an example.

Drinks are reasonably priced (well, for La Plagne anyway), the music’s great and there’s normally a live singer and sax player. This is all very much a take on the famed Folie Douce bar that started in Val d’Isère but now features in most bigger French resorts.

A word of warning – when the sun drops behind Grande Rochette, it can get seriously cold up here. Also, while the runs back down to the villages are all blue, even these mellow pistes can be a challenge if you’ve necked enough. This is always worth remembering before you down that umpteenth vin chaud.
