La Plagne Gd Rochette to Plagne Bellecôte via Mira > Trieuse

Grand Rochette forms a central hub for runs around the majority of the altitude stations above Plagne Centre. From the summit you have options to reach the majority of the upper-level skiing and snowboarding in La Plagne, including heading over to Plagne Bellecôte.

La Plagne longest routes – Plagne Centre to Plagne Bellecôte

In truth, most visitors to La Plagne will likely end up doing this route – probably by accident. Certainly, if you’re staying in Plagne Centre, it’s quite likely you’ll decide to head further afield at some point anyway. This combination route features the upper part of the Mira blue piste followed by the Trieuse blue that links over the ridge that separates the Bellecôte and Plagne Villages / Plagne Soleil valleys.

This route is just one of many that make the most of La Plagne’s huge vertical drop – although there are considerably fewer options for off-piste. Remember to subscribe to the iRide / LaPlagne360 YouTube channel for more tips like this – or check the snow reports videos on this site.

Take the Mira off Grande Rochette

After exiting the Funiplagne, head skier’s left and drop onto the top section of Mira. Remember to stay left on this run rather than splitting right at the rock (the Petite Rochette on the right takes you down towards the Champagny sector). At the bottom of the steep section of Mira (and it is steep for just a blue run), continue straight on. Signposts are pretty good here but, as a rule, you want to avoid taking any of the runs that flow away to your left as they’ll just take you back to Centre or in the direction of Plagne Villages / Soleil. In the video above, you should veer right at around 0.54 seconds. Following the pathways to the right, you’ll eventually cross under the Bergerie high-speed chair and join the . . .

Trieuse blue piste towards Plagne Bellecôte

The Trieuse piste has a long flat at the start so you should hold your speed just after you pass under the chair to make sure you get over without walking. The piste then drops left going past the optimistically-named halfpipe until you reach the Bellecôte hub of lifts – the Arpette chair, Colosses chair, Blanchets chair and Belle Plagne gondola.

Alternatively, if you want to take a break, go slightly further right as you look down the hill and drop in past Le Bonnet for a snack or a quick beer.
