Plagne Montalbert’s location on the far right of the area makes it the most isolated – and also the least visited – sector of the entire resort. This relatively sleepy village has grown to accommodate skiers and snowboarders but, nonetheless, the pace of life down here remains considerably more sedated than the higher resorts. Consequently, there are a limited number of bars and restaurants directly on-site and evenings tend to be less rowdy. While there’s great riding to be had on the hill directly above Montalbert, one considerable drawback of staying here is the fact there’s only one main lift to reach the summit. Consequently, queues frequently build for the Montalbert gondola as it’s the only route out of Montalbert and onto the other sectors.
