A strong wind event midweek has significantly altered conditions across the Tarentaise. In this update, tracking changes since 15 March, Floss looks at how the wind has reshaped the snowpack — stripping exposed ridges, loading certain aspects and redistributing snow across the mountains.

The result is a very mixed picture. Some areas have been scoured back to firmer surfaces, while others now hold deeper deposits and pockets of better snow. Knowing where the wind has moved the snow — and where it hasn’t — is key to finding the best conditions right now.

These resorts sit directly alongside Paradiski, making them a reliable reference point for what skiers are likely experiencing around La Plagne and Les Arcs. Sainte-Foy in particular lies just across the valley from Les Arcs, so the observations here are especially relevant.

As there are still no consistent, detailed snow reports coming directly out of La Plagne this winter, we’re sharing the strongest nearby coverage available.
