La Plagne lifts – The Dou du Praz

La Plagne lift profile – The Dou du Praz: The Dou du Praz is one of La Plagne’s quietest lifts – yet one of the most useful – particularly if you’re staying in Plagne Villages or Plagne Soleil. This short drag lift is a great alternative for avoiding the often excessive queues that can form at the base of the Bergerie chairlift.

La Plagne’s busiest lifts
Together with Plagne Bellecôte’s Arpette chair, the Bergerie is frequently ranked as the busiest lift in La Plagne. Both lifts form main arterial links for accessing the wider areas of La Plagne. The Arpette lift accesses the Montchavin sector while the Bergerie provides access to the Plagne Bellecôte and Belle Plagne sectors.
If you’re staying in Plagne Centre, Plagne Villages and, particularly, Plagne Soleil, you’ll often end up taking the Bergerie lift to get over to Bellecôte. However, this chair isn’t just busy with link traffic – it’s also very popular with ski schools – which can lead to huge queues forming (especially in the busy holiday periods).
The advantages of the Dou du Praz lift
The Dou du Praz is located at the top end of Plagne Soleil and is easily accessed directly out of the station or via a short walk from Plagne Villages. This extending pole lift never gets busy and gives a fast and easy route to the top of the Bretelle Trieuse piste which flows onto the lower half of the main Trieuse piste down to Bellecôte. This route completely avoids taking the Bergerie lift out of Soleil.
Alternatively, at the top, you could directly left onto the short Soleil piste or follow the Dou du Praz piste down to the base of the Bergerie, Boulevard chair or to access Plagne 1800.
