Plagne Bellecôte piste Arolles: The Arolles blue can be reached by heading skier’s right at the top of the Colosses chair out of Plagne Bellecôte.
The run starts on a relatively gentle gradient before veering right into a long traverse, followed by a long left turn and an uphill section. You need to hold your speed to get over this without walking.

La Plagne intermediate piste Arolles: After the top section, the Arolles piste then takes a very gentle slope across Leitchoums before finally reaching a marginally steeper section on the run-in through a wooded section to Bellecôte.
This blue isn’t challenging in any way – other than the fact you will definitely want to try and keep speed for the flat and uphill sections. It’s not particularly recommended for snowboarders – though even skiers could well find themselves poling and schussing.

Quick tip: Terrain varies a lot across La Plagne, and the wrong setup can turn an easy day into hard work. Booking ski or snowboard hire in advance means the right kit is ready, sizes are available and rental prices are cheaper online — plus you can choose a shop close to where you’re staying.

Arolles blue piste: A quick pros and cons table — the only real “challenge” here is keeping speed for the flatter and uphill bits.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Wide piste | A boring run |
| Even beginners can ride it (but will probably end up walking) | Very flat in places |
| Uphill section near start |
Quick tip: Even straightforward pistes can change quickly with weather, visibility and traffic. Good cover means lift evacuation, medical help and rescue costs are handled if something goes wrong — which in the Alps can otherwise be expensive.
If you haven’t sorted cover yet, it’s worth doing before your trip.
