Inversens red piste: Inversens leaves from just below the summit of Roche de Mio and is accessed from the Roche de Mio gondola, Carella chair or Inversens chair.
It flows naturally off the top section of the Levasset blue (take the furthest right piste near the Inversens restaurant). In truth, there’s nothing particularly difficult about Inversens and many riders would argue it should be rated blue.

La Plagne advanced piste Inversens: The redevelopment of the Inversens chair for season 2018/19 helped open up this area, as riding here previously involved a tortuously slow trip back up on an ageing fixed-grip chairlift.
With the new chair, the zone has become far more popular. There’s also a wealth of easily accessible off-piste here — much of it sits very close to the marked runs. Bigger challenges exist beyond the roped-off cornice area, but this terrain has serious cliffs, so you’ll definitely want a guide.
There is talk of a new chairlift being built from the bottom of Inversens linking over to the top of the Crozats chair. For now, Inversens terminates at the top of the Crozats black — the only route out other than taking the Inversens chair back up.

Quick tip: Terrain varies a lot across La Plagne, and the wrong setup can turn an easy day into hard work. Booking ski or snowboard hire in advance means the right kit is ready, sizes are available and rental prices are cheaper online — plus you can choose a shop close to where you’re staying.

Inversens red piste: A wide, friendly red with a great “away from the crowds” feel and excellent off-piste access close to the run — but there’s limited choice at the bottom, and it can feel a little straight up-and-down.

Quick tip: Even straightforward pistes can change quickly with weather, visibility and traffic. Good cover means lift evacuation, medical help and rescue costs are handled if something goes wrong — which in the Alps can otherwise be expensive.
If you haven’t sorted cover yet, it’s worth doing before your trip.
