Plagne Montalbert piste Pravendue

The top of the Plagne Montalbert piste Pravendue blue run is accessed via an easy-to-miss turn-off from the long Edmond Blanchoz (formerly Cornegidouille) blue piste which starts at Aime 2000. A little after the Envers chair and Adrets chair, look for a piste dropping off to the left. This is Pravendue.

La Plagne intermediate piste Pravendue

On paper, Pravendue sounds like a great run – a long, winding blue piste set amidst dramatic wooded scenery traversing round to its base just above the satellite village of Plagne Montalbert. Unfortunately, this isn’t quite the truth. This run is so flat that, in many places, you’ll end up unclipping or schussing (regularly). Indeed, there’s even a long uphill section at one point where you’ll definitely need to walk, no matter how fast you go. If your idea of a ski holiday is actually walking, sure, do this run – otherwise, it’s really one to be avoided – so much so, it takes an honorary position on the list of La Plagne pistes to avoid.

Pros
  • Remote
  • Beautiful in the sunshine
  • Usually quiet
Cons
  • So flat, you’ll need to walk
  • Probably fun for cross-country skiers – everyone else should avoid
