The Frête blue is a stand-out run on the Bellecôte glacier if for only one reason – it’s the easiest graded run in La Plagne’s high Alpine terrain. Everything else up this high is graded either red or black. Also, unlike the other pistes, it’s accessible from the mid-station of the Bellecôte glacier gondola.

La Plagne intermediate piste Frête

The Frête piste takes a long curve out skier’s left before pulling back towards the base of the Chalet de Bellecôte chair. Unfortunately, this is another of La Plagne’s older, more dated chairs which means a slow ride back up. Also, while it’s officially a two-seater, you’ll often see riders catching it single-file.

The Frête piste is easy, high-altitude riding with normally very good snow. Unless you’re a beginner, it shouldn’t cause most skiers or snowboarders any problems.

Pros
  • Snow-sure
  • Wide piste
  • Long & fast
  • Easy access off-piste
  • Sidehits
  • Never busy
Cons
  • Long flat midway
  • Very slow chair back
