Biolley lift Crêtes
The Crêtes poma above Aime 2000 is marked as difficult – and justifiably so, given its sharp initial gradient, take off ‘kick’ and dog-leg midway up. Only confident intermediates and above should attempt this lift as it’s a tricky proposition should you fall due to the (roped-off) steep drops either side of the uplift track.
The poma also only accesses red and black runs from the top so this really isn’t a tow for beginners. Gavotte red, Grande Pente black and Étroits black are all reached from the top – as is some of La Plagne’s best off-piste riding (with hiking involved). The location of this lift is very prone to high winds so it doesn’t always run in bad weather. Also, the runs in this spot are frequently closed after fresh snow until the security teams have had time to secure them (so yeah, you need a guide to ride the off-piste in this area safely).
