Despite the view in the Fatmap view below, Bellecôte glacier piste Rochu actually drops from the top of the new Glaciers gondola. Both this run and Bellecôte black give the impression of being far away from the main area and drop for an impressive length down to the base of the Châlet de Bellecôte chair.

However, unfortunately (and just the same as all the runs in this area), the glacier used to be frequently closed, meaning access was often impossible – and explaining why we have so little footage from this part of La Plagne.

Pros
  • Snow-sure
  • Great scenery
  • Very good after fresh snow
  • Easy access off-piste riding
  • One of La Plagne’s steeper blacks
Cons
  • Flat near the bottom
  • Long top traverse to access
  • If you want real challenges, try the North Face instead
