At 3.5km (2.2 miles), the Biolley Edmond Blanchoz (formerly Cornegidouille) blue is a fantastic intermediate piste that starts high up at Aime 2000 and runs past the Adrets Montalbert link down the base at La Roche, some 600m lower.

Unless you’re a total beginner just starting out, most riders will be able to make their way down this long undulating blue as there really aren’t many steep sections – and even the one near the bottom of the Envers chair can be avoided by going straight on and taking the Halles blue run.

Rather than gradient, often the biggest challenge on this run can be caused by snow conditions. In times of low snow (or after a long period without fresh snow), this run can get seriously icy on the lower sections towards the Roche high-speed detachable chair. Hit it in good conditions though, and it’s a fantastically varied run starting way above the treeline before slowly wending its way down through the lower forests.

Pros
  • Mostly wide
  • Long & fast
  • Sidehits
  • Very long blue run
  • Great for most levels
  • Feels like you’ve made a journey
Cons
  • The bottom can get very icy – avoid in times of low snow
  • Gets busy in places (normally at steep sections)
