Biolley piste Jean-Marie is a very short blue piste that links the Aime 2000 and Plagne Centre side of the mountain with Plagne 1800. It’s actually one of the main routes back to 1800 but many people don’t discover it unless they’re staying in the satellite.

Starting from just above Centre, the run is accessed by turning left off Pavane blue, Mont St Sauveur blue or Samba red as they near the long flat stretch into the main village.

Near the top, the Jean-Marie crosses a bridge over the main Aime road before dropping into a very mellow, very pleasant gradient followed by a slightly steeper pitch as you near the bottom into 1800.

The Jean-Marie run can also be used as an alternative route for getting back to Plagne Villages or Plagne Soleil and avoiding Centre by taking the Mélèzes chair followed by the Bergerie chair.

Pros
  • Main access to 1800
  • Chouffe Marcel is a good après stop
  • It’s always good going over a bridge
  • Fun, alternate route below Centre
  • Wide open after the bridge section
Cons
  • First traverse pretty flat
  • Feels a little counter-intuitive to double back
  • The drop after the bridge is steeper than you might think
