Pavane is a great run for improving beginners and intermediates. This blue piste starts high in the Biolley sector and is accessed via the Becoin chair out of Plagne Centre. Take a moment to take in the panorama at the top – one of the best views in La Plagne overlooking the entire domain and as far as Bellecôte glacier, Les Arcs, Tignes’ Grande Motte, La Rosière and – in the distance across the Isère valley – the towering Mont Blanc.

The Pavane piste starts with a long, flat section along a gentle mountain ridge before veering right down towards Aime 2000. This is the steepest part of the run (though even this can be avoided by turning right onto the Réservoir piste).

At Aime 2000, head right, staying behind the main building. The run then drops into a pathway section, doubling back towards Centre, before widening again when it joins the bottom of the Mont St Sauveur piste (note, this section gets busy as various runs merge together).

Pros
  • Good, long, fast run
  • Takes meandering route
  • Becoin chair access is very fast
  • Sidehits – mainly on the pathway sections
  • Varies between steep sections and paths
Cons
  • People stopping at the steeps
  • The drop above Aime can get icy / scraped
