The Champagny piste Kamikaze red run is accessed from either Les Verdons (taking the Verdons blue) or from Grande Rochette on the Carina red. This run is most testing at the top where, in truth, it would likely be graded closer black in many other resorts. After a short, steep pitch the run mellows considerably before joining the Bozelet blue for a short section.

Kamikaze is a wide-open, motorway-style piste with a gradient perfect for laying out long, lazy carving turns. Laps are possible on this run thanks to the Verdons Sud chair and, due to La Plagne’s popularity with predominantly beginner / intermediate riders, it rarely gets busy. Indeed, there are quite a few good red runs in the Champagny sector.

Pros
  • Interesting route
  • Great for carving
  • Very fast
  • Long
  • Varying gradient
  • Incredible scenery
  • Sidehits
Cons
  • Top steep for a red
  • Bottom more a blue
