In 2024, La Plagne’s lift company, SAP, installed a new gondola system to take skiers and snowboarders to the summit. The revised route takes a different path to a new drop-off point near the Bellecôte north face off-piste run. This gives pedestrians and riders the chance to visit the higher reaches of the resort. In truth, the La Plagne ‘glacier’ receded many years ago through global warming. While summer skiing and snowboarding were once possible on the glacier, the hill is now almost bare through the summer months.
