The Grande Rochette piste Pollux blue run above Plagne Centre is one of La Plagne’s most popular runs, served by the equally popular Colorado chair. Access is also possible via the Funiplagne followed by the Carina red – though, due to the steepness of Carina, less-experienced riders may prefer to stick to the Colorado for access.

The run itself is an accomplished beginner’s / early intermediate’s paradise and features enough terrain to keep even more skilled riders amused. In particular, after fresh snow, there are various options for beginners to try off-piste riding in La Plagne very close to the main run down – perfect for those early forays into powder turns. Indeed, were it not for the crowds accessing this run, it would very easily make it on the list of La Plagne’s best blue runs.

For freestyle riders, there are also masses of natural features just under the lift-line – again, very easily accessed from the main piste. These should be enough to keep even experienced riders entertained. The only drawback of this interesting run is the often massive lift queue which can build up on the Colorado (one of La Plagne’s busiest lifts) – particularly in busier times of the season. Of course, there’s always the Funiplagne as a secondary option which, due to its high capacity, normally stays much quieter.
