Even when other nearby runs are busy, the Grande Rochette piste Ramy blue run normally stays quiet – mainly because most people don’t see the turn-off and instead continue on the Mira blue piste. To find Ramy, head down Mira until you near the end of the steep section. Instead of continuing on, take a left near the top of the Aollets drag lift to access.

La Plagne intermediate piste Ramy

The Ramy blue follows a short gully on the left side of the Aollets tow track before crossing back onto the main Mira piste. Things get a little confusing here as a number of runs all converge in the same place however the official line is Ramy continues down the right side of the Aollets poma into Plagne Villages. It all depends how you interpret the map as this run could very easily be considered the bottom of Mira. Regardless, Ramy is an enjoyable little detour away from the main, busier side of the mountain. After fresh snow, there are also options for La Plagne off-piste riding, with the relative safety of being close to the piste. It also goes past one of La Plagne’s best aprés ski bars, the Bergerie.

To get back up, either take the Aollets drag lift (not the easiest if you lack experience in surface lifts) or follow the track down from Plagne Villages back into Plagne Centre (where you can catch the Funiplagne back up).

Pros
  • Fast, long, wide
  • Can access Villages
  • Usually quiet
  • Good for all levels
  • Sidehits – lots
  • Interesting terrain
  • Great after fresh snow
  • Can access via Aollets (very quiet)
  • Access also possible by Funiplagne
Cons
  • Aollets can be difficult for less experienced riders
  • Run back to Centre often involves a walk
