The very short Grande Rochette piste Soleil blue run is, aptly, located just next to Plagne Soleil and accessed via the Dou du Praz drag lift – again, just a short way outside the satellite.

The run itself seems a little pointless as it’s too short to be of any real use and certainly isn’t a piste you’d spend any time on. However, the Dou du Praz is still a handy lift and can be used to reach two far more useful (and interesting) runs  – the Dou du Praz blue which runs behind Plagne Soleil and the Bretelle Trieuse blue piste which gives quick and easy access over into the Roche de Mio / Plagne Bellecôte sector and Plagne Bellecôte itself.

The Soleil piste isn’t somewhere you’d want to spend any time (apart from maybe after fresh snow as it’s one of the slowest areas to get tracked giving you a chance to try La Plagne off-piste riding in relative safety). Due to its isolated location, access to this piste is only from the Dou du Praz lift.

Pros
  • Wide piste
  • A main run into Villages
  • Always quiet
  • Lift is normally quiet
  • Near Monicas restaurant
  • Takes longer to get tracked
Cons
  • Slightly pointless
  • Very short
  • Lift up slow
