Season 2017/18 in La Plagne was exceptional for many reasons – not least of which was the exceptional snowfall and conditions which persisted from early December right through to the season end in April. Indeed, we were making powder turns right up to the final weeks of the resort opening. While it’s not uncommon to have late-season storms in the Alps, the 17/18 winter really was one of the books with near-constant blizzards all through the year and a reported 17 sunny days all season. The snow depths were remarkable, the conditions were off the scale and the skiing and snowboarding was some of the best in living memory in this area of the Alps.
