La Plagne ATM bank machines

In today’s increasingly cashless society, as you would expect, pretty much all shops, bars and restaurants in La Plagne accept card payments (although we have read reports saying you might have problems with American Express). Nonetheless, there are times when you might prefer to use cash – or trip over a retailer that isn’t able to take cards. In these situations, it’s useful to know where to find La Plagne ATM bank machines.

Cash machines around La Plagne

if you should find yourself needing cold, hard cash, the majority of La Plagne’s bigger stations have ATMs – however, they’re often not that easy to find – hence the reason we’ve included a Google Map of ATM locations around the resort.

Most of the altitude resorts have cash machines but it’s worth noting that there aren’t any in Aime 2000, Plagne Soleil or Plagne Villages. If you’re staying in these stations, your closest ATM is in Plagne Centre. Also, should you arrive in La Plagne with UK money, you can change it at the La Poste office in Plagne Centre – at much better rates than you’ll be offered in the airports.

Map locations of ATMs in La Plagne

The map below shows the location of ATMs in the higher villages of La Plagne, namely in Plagne Centre, Plagne 1800, Plagne Bellecôte and Belle Plagne.

Using money in La Plagne

If you are drawing money, always choose to accept your bank’s exchange rate rather than that of the issuing bank. Better yet, it’s a good idea to get one of the new breed of internet bank accounts that allow you to transfer money into foreign currency before withdrawing. There is a huge range of banking apps now available that make this process very quick easy and will allow you to benefit from a much better exchange rate than you’ll typically get from your bank / the bank machine (for example, Revolut although there are many, many others).
