It can be very easy to miss the Le Joli Bois bar and restaurant in the Montchavin sector of La Plagne but, really, it’s well worth a stop. Not only is the inside of this small restaurant authentically rustic, on a clear day, the views from the large balcony out the front over the Isère valley are incredible. Note, don’t be put off by the supposed ‘front’ balcony which overlooks the Mont Blanc piste – instead, head to the other balcony (really the front of the building).

Affiliations: La Plagne 360 works with industry-leading suppliers to bring you the best services. If you click on these links, in many cases we will receive a tiny commission at no cost to you. AND, most of the time, you'll receive a deal. Win/Win! We only feature products we have used and believe in.

However, there is another reason this restaurant is often missed – namely that there’s another great bar on the Les Arcs side of the Vanoise Express that has an even better ambience, the Le Solan d’Aniathazze.
