Montchavin lifts: The Montchavin sector has one of the biggest vertical drops in La Plagne — around 1,000m from top to bottom — and links quiet, tree-lined pistes with high-altitude terrain above the Vanoise Express which gives a direct link over to Les Arcs (check the La Plagne Les Arcs route). Starting from Montchavin village (1250m), you can reach the summit of this area in as little as three lifts.
This side of the mountain is known for long cruising runs, easy access to off-piste terrain and big views across the Isère valley towards Mont Blanc. It’s also home to some of La Plagne’s best-loved blue and red pistes, which is why Montchavin remains such a popular part of the ski area. And yes, that includes the Mont Blanc blue, La Plagne’s longest piste.
