Montalbert pistes: Over on the far right of the piste map, Plagne Montalbert is one of La Plagne’s quietest corners. It’s a great option when the main area feels busy and features mostly mellow, tree-lined pistes and a much more relaxed atmosphere. Because fewer people venture this far out, the runs and lifts here are normally quieter, apart from the usual morning uplift rush and the very peak holiday weeks.
Most of the skiing feeds off the Montalbert gondola, so it’s easy to drop in for a few laps or spend half a day here. After fresh snow this sector really comes into its own — traffic is lighter, the snow holds up better and the fresh stays fresher for longer. Plus the trees make it a great place to ride when visibility is poor higher up.
