Montchavin pistes: The Montchavin sector is mainly about well-graded blue and red runs, including the huge 7km Mont Blanc piste — La Plagne’s longest descent — which drops around 1,000m down to Montchavin village. It’s a run most skiers and snowboarders will enjoy, whatever their level, and it gives this area a real sense of journey.
Apart from the top of the highest runs, the pistes here benefit from consistent tree cover, which makes Montchavin a great shout on bad-weather days, and there’s also easily accessible off-piste just a few metres from the marked runs. This is also where you can cross to Les Arcs via the Vanoise Express, effectively doubling your terrain and opening up the full Paradiski area.
