This live webcam looks out from the La Rossa area above Champagny, giving a clear view of snow and visibility on this quieter, south-facing side of La Plagne. It’s a useful check before skiing the Champagny sector or heading higher.
The La Rossa webcam is particularly helpful for judging light conditions and cloud cover, as Champagny can often enjoy clearer weather when other parts of the resort are more affected. Note, the lower runs around Champagny back to the village are rated black and red. If you don’t have the skills to ride these lower pistes – Mont de la Guerre (red) and Les Bois (newly classified black), you should stay limit your riding to the higher parts Champagny.

The La Rossa webcam is ideal for assessing conditions in the Champagny sector, especially on mixed-weather days. It helps you see whether cloud is building, how the light looks and whether snow cover is holding well. It’s worth noting, Champagny’s high, tree-less runs are a minefield when the weather closes in and you would be far better on the lower, more sheltered runs on the front of the mountain when the clouds roll in.
However, if it’s clear here, Champagny often offers some of the best riding and views in the whole of Paradiski. The views over to Trois Vallées are exceptional.

Quick tip: Even on marked pistes, accidents happen. In France, rescue and evacuation costs can be charged to you. Proper ski insurance covers lift evacuation, medical care and cancellation if something goes wrong.
If you haven’t arranged cover yet, it’s worth sorting before your trip.
