This live webcam looks out from Roche de Mio, one of La Plagne’s key mid-to-high altitude viewpoints above Belle Plagne and Plagne Bellecôte. It’s a brilliant quick check for visibility, cloud level, light and fresh snowfall before you head up to higher terrain or commit to longer routes.
Because Roche de Mio sits above the treeline and often above valley cloud, it can reveal whether conditions are clear and bright up high while the lower villages are still grey and clouded over.

The Roche de Mio webcam is ideal for judging what’s happening above La Plagne’s Bellecôte bowl and up towards the La Plagne glacier, especially when conditions are changeable. It helps you spot flat light, incoming cloud, wind exposure and what the snow cover’s like on the open pistes.
If it looks clear here, you’ve usually got good options across Belle Plagne, Plagne Bellecôte and the surrounding uplift. If it’s foggy or blowing hard, it’s normally a sign to plan a lower-altitude route or head for more sheltered terrain until visibility improves – for example, down towards Montchavin which offers cover on tree-lined pistes.

Quick tip: Even on marked pistes, accidents happen. In France, rescue and evacuation costs can be charged to you. Proper ski insurance covers lift evacuation, medical care and cancellation if something goes wrong.
If you haven’t arranged cover yet, it’s worth sorting before your trip.
For the most accurate read on conditions, compare a couple of webcams at different elevations and aspects. You can also view the latest La Plagne weather forecast to see the wider pattern across the day.

This 3D video will give you a better idea of how the La Plagne resorts tie in with each other – and, in particular, the spread out locations of the valley resorts. For more guides like this, head over to the iRide YouTube channel. You’ll find piste rides, village tours, flythroughs and travel guides filmed across both resorts and other ski areas.
We’ve put together a short video and an accompanying downloadable piste map to help you see the best of La Plagne in a day on mostly blue pistes, with only two manageable reds. The route is ideal when you want a great day on snow without overthinking it.
The appended piste map includes a clear run order plus links to detailed piste and lift breakdowns, so you can adapt the plan based on current visibility and wind.
