THE ROUTE

Why this Plagne Centre blue run route works so well

Long, wide pistes with fast lift access for easy repeat laps

The Grande Rochette sector is made for intermediate riders. It has some of La Plagne’s longest, widest blue pistes, which makes it ideal for building confidence, improving technique and runs that properly help you open up your turns.

This route links a selection of the best runs using a mix of some of La Plagne’s fastest lifts including Colorado, Bergerie and the Funiplagne gondola. While Bergerie and Colorado can get busy, you’ll only do them once meaning you spend more time riding and less time faffing with queues, slow links or confusing traverses.

Quick confidence note: the top of Mira blue can feel steep for a blue. If it feels a bit challenging, just sideslip that first pitch — the gradient quickly mellows and the rest of the run is a joy.

SKI INSURANCE

Cover sorted for a Plagne Centre ski day?

Rescue and evacuation costs in the Alps can be high

Plagne Centre’s blue runs are confidence-building and lift-linked, but accidents can still happen on marked pistes, around lift areas and when visibility turns poor. In France, proper cover matters because mountain rescue and medical support can be charged directly to you.

If you’re planning to spend a full day exploring the Grande Rochette bowl and linking sectors, it makes sense to have cover that actually matches the kind of riding you’ll do. True Traveller offers exceptional cover, even in its standard packages.
