La Plagne’s 11 villages (12 if you include La Roche) each has their own qualities and personalities but, crucially, they are also located at different altitudes across the mountain. When booking a La Plagne ski or snowboard holiday, you’ll no doubt have a lot of different considerations in mind – everything from how the nightlife and aprés ski will be to the convenience of your La Plagne accommodation.
The difference La Plagne’s altitude makes
If you’re trying to work out which village is best for you purely from an altitude (and therefore snow-surety) point of view, below is a list of the resort altitudes.
As a general rule, staying above 2000m pretty much ensures good snow throughout the season (as can be seen in the image above) although it’s also worth remembering La Plagne also has an extensive network of snow cannon – particularly lower down.
La Plagne’s terrain goes from 1250m up to 3250m meaning good snow is assured somewhere on the mountain. However, if you want great snow on your doorstep, you may be advised to think about resort height too.
