The Geisha is one of La Plagne’s most enjoyable blue runs for early intermediates and above. It’s also one of the least used access routes to get over to the Champagny sector as most skiers and snowboarders prefer to take the long Levasset blue run which, subsequently, often gets busy.
Access is either from the Petite Rochette blue piste (off Grande Rochette accessed via the Funiplagne), the Col de Forcle poma (out of Belle Plagne) or Roc du Diable blue piste (from the top of the Blanchets chair). As none of these runs are particularly popular, Geisha typically stays quiet – even in busy times.
The run has a couple of pitches where you can really let rip and build up speed – which you’ll need as there are also a couple of flat sections. The most important of these comes just after you pass between two buildings going round a right bend and enter a natural gully section. You’ll want to keep your speed here as, after the following bend to the left, the gradient becomes almost non-existent.
The Geisha then has a short steeper section before it rejoins the bottom of the Levasset blue piste taking you down to either the Verdons Sud chair or, further on, the Borseliers chair.
