Champagny piste Rossa Haut
Rossa is tucked away in a very secluded corner of the already-secluded Champagny area. The Rossa chair is mainly used by skiers and snowboarders making the return journey from the Levasset piste circuit so, consequently, most people ignore the runs here. Which is a very good thing for those that know the terrain in this area.
None of the runs off the Rossa chair is particularly challenging – though they are all fun and set in the most incredible scenery. If you find yourself here, you should give them a go. They’re all wide open, fast, cruising blue pistes with just enough steep pitches to provide a test if you’re going quick enough. That said, beginners and intermediates will love the open nature of these runs most – though there’s still enough to keep good riders entertained – plus some very accessible (if easy) off-piste between the runs.
Another of the biggest appeals of the runs in this area is the fact they’re ideal for brushing up skills, finding your feet or learning switch and smaller rotational tricks off the multiple small side-banks that line this run. The Rossa is one of La Plagne’s best early intermediate runs. As an added bonus, one of La Plagne’s best mountain cafes is here – the Roc de Blanchets.
