Grande Rochette lift Funiplagne
The Grande Rochette lift Funiplagne is a flagship lift in La Plagne, rising out of Plagne Centre to give speedy access to the majority of Grande Rochette pistes – where a wealth of options exist including access to the Champagny sector (and, further down, Champagny-en-Vanoise), Plagne Bellecôte, Plagne Villages, Plagne Soleil and the lower runs around Les Verdons and Grande Rochette itself.
In busier times of the season, there is always a crush to get onto this lift but a top tip to ensure you get a seat is to stay on the left in the queue, next to the barrier. It may seem like the queue moves slower on this side but, really, the far side of the queue is just a melée and standing left will mean you’ll be first in line as the doors open when it’s your turn to get on (the cabins travel from left to right).
Also worth nothing – sufferers of vertigo might want to shut their eyes. At its maximum height, it travels 92m above the Capella piste far below.
