The Grande Rochette piste Boulevard green run through Plagne Centre is one of La Plagne’s best beginner areas with a very gentle gradient and the fairly unique distinction of passing under an apartment block and a road bridge.

Absolute beginners will likely enjoy the Boulevard run for its quirkiness as much as anything else. More accomplished riders will use it as a link between the lower runs in Plagne Centre and either the Bergerie chairlift or the runs down to Plagne 1800 (Les Mines red and Loup-Garou blue).

The run is served by the slow, fixed-grip Boulevard chair – a lift that passes impossibly close to the France apartment building – but another aspect of this run that makes it perfect for novice skiers and snowboarders.

Pros
  • Close to bars, cafes etc
  • Good beginner gradient
  • Goes thru Plagne Centre
  • Novelty of passing under the France building & a bridge
Cons
  • Can get very busy
  • Slow chair back up
  • Not much in the way of scenery
