Intermediates will absolutely adore the Grande Rochette piste Capella blue run. This long, wide open run flows naturally through interesting terrain under the main Funiplagne gondola heading back in the direction of Plagne Centre. It is also one of La Plagne’s best blue runs.

Depending on your riding level, access to the Capella is possible directly from the top of the Colorado chair or via the Funiplagne followed by Carina red. Note the Carina is quite steep, particularly at the top, so lower skill riders would be better advised to stick to the Colorado for access.

After fresh snow, there’s always very accessible off-piste riding to be had either side of this run – perfect for improving beginners or early intermediates to learn new skills without having to stray far from the safety of the main area.

Pros
  • Really enjoyable blue
  • Great scenery
  • Interesting terrain
  • Incredibly wide
  • Fast
  • Long
  • Sidehits
  • Easy access off-piste
Cons
  • Can get busy
  • People stop at steeps
