Capella piste: Intermediates will absolutely adore Capella. This long, wide open blue flows naturally through interesting terrain under the main Funiplagne gondola as you head back towards Plagne Centre. It’s also one of La Plagne’s best blue runs.
Depending on your riding level, access is possible directly from the top of the Colorado chair or via the Funiplagne followed by Carina red. Carina is quite steep, particularly at the top, so lower skill riders are better sticking to Colorado for access.

La Plagne intermediate piste Capella: Capella is the kind of blue you can lap without getting bored — long enough to feel like a proper run, wide enough to relax and scenic enough to keep it interesting.
At busy times, expect slow-moving traffic and people pulling over at the steeper rollovers. Give yourself a bit of space, keep your line tidy and you’ll still have a brilliant run.
After fresh snow there’s very accessible off-piste either side of the run — perfect for improving beginners or early intermediates to build confidence in pow without straying far from the main area.
Summation? This is a must-do blue in La Plagne (just watch for the queues at times).
Quick tip: Terrain varies a lot across La Plagne, and the wrong setup can turn an easy day into hard work. Booking ski or snowboard hire in advance means the right kit is ready, sizes are available and rental prices are cheaper online — plus you can choose a shop close to where you’re staying.

Capella piste: One of the best blues in the Grande Rochette sector — wide, fast and confidence-boosting with fun terrain features, but it can feel hectic when traffic builds and people stop at the rollovers.

Quick tip: Even straightforward pistes can change quickly with weather, visibility and traffic. Good cover means lift evacuation, medical help and rescue costs are handled if something goes wrong — which in the Alps can otherwise be expensive.
If you haven’t sorted cover yet, it’s worth doing before your trip.
