Plagne Bellecote: In truth, Plagne Bellecôte is rather like an exercise in bad 70’s French architecture. The buildings apparently imitate the line of the peaks behind them but instead feel a bit like a dam blocking the end of the valley. That said, what Bellecôte lacks in aesthetic appeal, it makes up for with ski-in / ski-out convenience and access to some of the area’s best riding – including Montchavin and Les Arcs. Bellecôte also plays host to the resort’s New Year party and has one of the best on-hill apres bars, Le Bonnet. The village also has an outdoor pool and an ice rink (patinoire). Plagne Bellecôte rated
Plagne Bellecôte has the unique advantage of being joined by gondola to Belle Plagne which vastly increases the options for bars and restaurants. However, the ratings on the right are based purely upon the amenities that exist locally in Bellecôte, without using this lift.
It’s also worth bearing in mind, La Plagne offers a regular bus service between all the main altitude stations at night so a trip to Plagne Centre or the other villages is always possible if you fancy a change of scene – although you get the best of both worlds with the gondola link anyway. Spitting Feathers is the best bar in this area.
