The free La Plagne shuttle buses run throughout the winter season and make it easy to get around resort without needing a car. The buses link the main altitude villages and are especially handy in the evening once the ski lifts have closed.
You’ll find clearly marked shuttle stops around the villages – usually close to ski lifts, tourist offices and car parks – and you can jump on and off as needed. Skis, boards and boots are fine on board too.

Quick tip: La Plagne is one of the biggest ski areas in the world. On busy weeks, hire shops fill up fast and queues build quickly. Booking ski or snowboard hire in advance means your equipment is ready, sizes are available and you get rental prices that are cheaper online.
Choose a shop close to your accommodation so your first morning is simple.

Times may vary a little during peak holiday weeks or bad weather, so it’s always worth checking the latest version when you arrive in resort.

Quick tip: Even on marked pistes, accidents happen. In France, rescue and evacuation costs can be charged to you. Proper ski insurance covers lift evacuation, medical care and cancellation if something goes wrong.
If you haven’t arranged cover yet, it’s worth sorting before your trip.
Several shuttle lines operate across the resort area, running regular services between the key La Plagne villages. Depending on the route, buses may travel through:
• Plagne Centre
• Plagne 1800
• Plagne Villages
• Plagne Soleil
• Belle Plagne
• Plagne Bellecôte
Services run in both directions, and journeys between neighbouring villages are normally only a few minutes – ideal if you fancy dinner or après somewhere different to where you’re staying.
The La Plagne transit network comprises both shuttle buses and lifts to get around the main stations. The map above shows the network and the three lift options (clearly marked):
Plagne Centre < > Aime 2000 via the Télémétro cable car (the Charmettes bus also runs but is much less frequent). The Télémétro runs from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m.
Plagne Centre < > Plagne Villages base (also possible to access Plagne Soleil with a short walk) via the Télébus lift. To get to Soleil, just walk over the Écartée piste. Note, if you’re staying in the higher parts of Plagne Villages, you would be far better taking the bus – it’s quite a hike to the top. The Télébus runs from 8:45 a.m. – 11:30 p.m
Plagne Bellecôte < > Belle Plagne via the Télécabine gondola. The Belle Plagne gondola runs from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.

During the winter ski season, shuttle buses normally run from early morning until late evening. Services are more frequent at busy times such as ski school drop-off and après-ski hours, and a little quieter during the middle of the day.
On most routes, buses run roughly every 20–30 minutes. Download the timetables above to find the exact scheduling.

Below are a few tips for getting around La Plagne by shuttle bus.
• Arrive at the stop a few minutes early in peak times
• Expect busy buses around ski school start and finish times
• The bus route/line is normally shown clearly on the front
• Skis and snowboards are accepted on most services
• Heavy snow may cause minor delays
If you’re staying in Montchavin-Les Coches or Plagne Montalbert, you’ll mainly use your local village shuttle instead of the high-altitude resort buses. Note, there is no bus link from the lower villages up to the high altitude stations.

Watch this 3D video to get a better idea of how the La Plagne resorts tie in with each other. While the altitude resorts seem close together, getting between them on foot isn’t easy – hence the reason the resort operates in-resort shuttles and lifts.
