Montchavin lift Pierres Blanches
The Montchavin lift Pierres Blanches is a high-speed chair that departs from the top of the Montchavin chair out of Montchavin village, rising up to a plateau where you can catch either the Dos Rond chair or Plan Leschaux drag lift to reach the top of the Montchavin pistes.
The Pierres Blanches chair rises sharply over some very steep terrain before the gradient shallows at the top of the hill. The views through the forest are beautiful – but take a second also to look behind you for a great vista over the Isère valley and the towns of Aime and Bourg-St-Maurice, with Mont Blanc sitting proudly in the distance.
At the top, you can join the Mont Blanc blue run going skier’s left as you look downhill or stay right under the chair to access the Pierres Blanches blue – with the option to drop onto the Myrtilles blue piste, a short way down on the left.
- Fast chair
- Queues rare
- Great scenery – look behind you
- Runs from the top are some of La Plagne’s best – particularly after fresh snow
- Busy later with people returning from Les Arcs
