Montchavin piste Coches
Reaching the Montchavin piste Coches red run can seem a little counter-intuitive as it involves deviating off the main Mont Blanc blue piste and travelling in the opposite direction of the run (which can feel slightly unnatural as everything else seems to go to the right).
La Plagne advanced piste Coches
From the top of the Lac Noir gondola and Plan Bois chair, continue on the Mont Blanc until it turns right near the foot of the Ecureuils drag lift. Continue on for a short way until you see an exit to the left, going in almost the opposite direction. Follow this piste for a little way until you see the Coches piste signposted to your left – just as the run starts to turn right.
Coches is an enjoyable red cut through the trees on the far side of the Montchavin sector. It takes multiple turns through the forest before eventually widening as it approaches the Plan Bois chair. From the base, you can either take Plan Bois back up or continue down to Plagne Montchavin on the Mont Blanc blue piste.
