La Plagne Aime 2000 village guide: The Aime 2000 building is another of La Plagne’s architectural mysteries but, aesthetics aside, staying in Aime 2000 brings considerable benefits. For a start, pretty much everything is self-contained in the huge ‘battleship’ building meaning, in bad weather, you don’t need to stray outside unless you want to. Having everything on your doorstep is convenient and this satellite commands the best views across the Isère valley across to Mont Blanc.

Aime 2000 offers a unique holiday experience – there can’t be many resorts that are almost entirely contained within one building – but, once you get your head around the architecture, you’ll soon see there are advantages to this approach. It’s also nice to start the day with a run down rather than queuing for lifts. Also, should you get bored of life up here, you can catch the cable car (or bus) down to Plagne Centre.
It’s also worth bearing in mind, La Plagne offers a relatively regular bus service between the main stations at night – so a trip to the other villages is always possible if you tire of the local scene.
